Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice explains how Hunterdon County Released Inmates handles information when a visitor browses, uses a search tool, or sends a message. Search terms pass to the outside provider that runs the selected tool. Technical logs, cookies, and analytics may also record ordinary use data. The notice describes why information is processed, which service providers or lawful authorities may receive it, how security is approached, and which privacy choices may apply. Following a link to a sheriff, corrections agency, court, or search partner moves the visitor to that destination’s own privacy practices.

Information You Submit

Terms Entered in Search

A name, place, or other term entered in a search box passes to the third-party provider operating that tool. This site does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.

Messages Sent to Us

An email or contact message may be retained long enough to answer it and maintain the exchange. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Automatic Technical Details

Ordinary server and analytics logs may collect the following data when a page loads:

  • The network IP address
  • The browser name and version
  • The device class and operating system
  • Pages viewed and time spent on them
  • The referring website, when supplied
  • Date and time stamps

Cookies and Browser Controls

Cookies help measure how visitors use the site. A browser can reject or delete them, although a blocked cookie may change how some features behave.

Reasons We Use Data

Information is used only for ordinary site operations, communications, measurement, security, and the outside services a visitor chooses to use.

  • Operate the pages and maintain performance
  • Send search requests to the selected partner
  • Measure which records pages visitors find useful
  • Detect and correct technical faults
  • Display advertising that may reflect general interests

Privacy Beyond This Site

Links lead to sheriff and corrections pages, release-record portals, government systems, and outside search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy terms control.

Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and tailor ads. That processing occurs under the partner's practices.

When Data May Be Shared

We do not sell personal data. Limited information may reach these recipients:

  • Search partners that process a submitted query
  • Analytics providers that measure site use
  • Advertising networks serving or measuring ads
  • Law enforcement or public authorities acting under a valid legal order

Reasonable Security Measures

Standard administrative and technical safeguards are used where appropriate. No internet-connected service is completely secure, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.

Visitors Under Eighteen

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect information from a person under eighteen. Contact us if a minor submitted data so a deletion request can be reviewed.

Your Privacy Choices

Depending on the law and the data involved, a visitor may ask us to review one or more of these requests:

  • Ask for a copy of personal data we hold
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Ask that eligible data be erased
  • Opt out of processing where the law provides that choice

Requests may be sent through the Contacts page. We may need enough information to confirm the requester’s identity and locate the relevant data. Rights are subject to legal exceptions, and a request about data held by a sheriff, court, corrections agency, search partner, analytics provider, or ad network must go to that organization.

Changes to This Notice

This notice may be revised as services or legal duties change. A new version will be posted here with its updated effective date.
